Gut health

The importance of gut health has really come to light in recent years. There has been new information available about the mind-gut connection and the importance of a healthy microbiome (good gut bacteria), and how this can impact the whole body. As a Chinese Medicine practitioner, Michaela recognises that the body is all connected, and that these new discoveries fit perfectly within the diverse world of Chinese Medicine.

An initial consultation with Michaela involves a deep and thorough health review, discussing all of the body’s systems, to find where the problem may be stemming from. If you’re struggling with digestive issues, you may come to realise that this might be connected to other health concerns. Michaela is able to help you draw these connections, and work together to re-establish balance in the body through the use of acupuncture, herbal medicine and subtle diet changes.

Warm it up!

The digestive system is considered warm in Chinese Medicine, which may sound strange, but really just means that eating warm foods, and avoiding very cold, chilled foods and drinks is going to help you to rebuild your digestive energy. All foods have a different thermal nature, and certain foods can be used to help with certain conditions. Michaela has a deep knowledge of Chinese Medicine diet therapy, and loves to incorporate this into her treatments, giving you a rounded therapy that can continue beyond the treatment room.
